Student registration is open now and submissions are due November 1st, 2021.

Established by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014, this competition is a nationwide event intended to engage students’ creativity and encourage their participation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields. This competition allows students to compete with peers in their own district by creating and exhibiting their software application, or “app”, for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.

I know how crucial these skills are and want to encourage students to engage in these fields. By encouraging and recognizing our nation’s young programming talent, Congress hopes to shine a light on the growing importance of these skills.

Dates:
November 1st: Deadline for students to submit their app.
December 14th: Announce district winner(s) on or before this date.

Eligibility:
A student must currently be enrolled in middle or high school and either reside or attend school in the district. Students can compete in teams of up to four as long as at least two members are eligible to compete in the district.

Students need to register to participate here.
Once they are registered, they may submit their app.
