Congressman Max Miller Votes for the Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Max Miller (OH-07) voted today to pass a package of full-year appropriations bills funding parts of the federal government through the end of Fiscal Year 2026. The legislation includes the Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Acts, funding key federal agencies through a transparent, member-driven process rooted in committee work and constitutional accountability.

“Today, I was proud to vote for this appropriations package,” said Congressman Miller. “This bill provides $24.438 billion for NASA, including $935 million for aeronautics, which is critical to NASA Glenn’s mission.”

The legislation advances key priorities, including:

  • Restoring American energy dominance by increasing investments in domestic energy production, critical mineral extraction, grid security, and geothermal energy, while eliminating Biden-era “woke” energy and environmental justice programs.
  • Strengthening national security with significant investments in nuclear deterrence modernization, protections for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, and restrictions preventing adversarial nations from accessing sensitive U.S. facilities.
  • Protecting public lands and communities by supporting wildland firefighters, improving safety in national parks, and increasing funding for Tribal Public Safety and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women programs.
  • Supporting law enforcement and combating fentanyl with increased funding for the DEA, stronger tools to fight drug trafficking, and enhanced efforts to protect children from exploitation.
  • Defending core American values, including the Second Amendment, the sanctity of life, and efforts to prevent Chinese Communist Party influence in U.S. government and infrastructure.

Importantly, the legislation also restores Community Project Funding, allowing Members of Congress to direct federal dollars to locally requested, carefully vetted projects that meet real needs in their districts.

Projects benefiting our district included in the bill:

  • City of Brecksville – $638,414 for the Brecksville Police Department Equipment & Vehicle Replacement & Enhancement Project
  • Case Western Reserve University – $2,000,000 for Next Generation Microgravity Research
  • Independence Police Department – $320,000 for Independence Police Department Vehicle Modernization
  • Cuyahoga County – $1,250,000 for the Olmsted Township Fitch Road Sewer Project
  • City of Parma – $1,000,000 for W. 54th Street Sewer Improvement
  • City of Brunswick – $1,990,000 for Stormwater Management Improvements
