U.S. Congressman Max Miller Applauds Passage of Bills to Improve Weather Modeling and Forecasting

WASHINGTON, D.C.U.S. Congressman Max Miller (OH-07) hailed the passage of the Weather Act Reauthorization Act by the House of Representatives. The bill included Miller’s Advanced Weather Model Computing Development Act, which previously passed the House on May 9, 2023. Also included in the package were other bills co-led or cosponsored by Congressman Miller: the Weather Information for Agriculture Act, the Precipitation Forecasting for Agriculture Act, the NOAA Weather Radio Modernization Act, and the National Weather Service Communications Improvement Act.  

As Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Environment on the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, Miller has worked on legislation that would improve our weather forecasting and modeling capabilities and conserve taxpayer resources. 

The legislation passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 394 – 19.
