WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Max Miller (OH-07) released the following statement after the House of Representatives voted on the first of 12 appropriations bills to fund the government fully for fiscal year 2025. The bill passed the House by a vote of 209 to 197.

“Today, the House of Representatives took the first step in a responsible approach to reining in our nation’s spending by preparing for fiscal year 2025 in a timely manner. The bill passed today provides funding for Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, supporting national security and military families through military construction projects and honoring our commitments to our veterans by fully funding the VA.

This bill is the first step toward fully funding our government for fiscal year 2025 and avoiding an unnecessary omnibus spending bill. I hope that my Democratic colleagues will negotiate with us in good faith as we continue this process and fully fund our government without political gimmicks.”
