U.S. Congressman Max Miller’s Week in Review

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Below are the highlights of U.S. Congressman Max Miller’s (OH-07) schedule from last week in Washington, D.C. and Ohio. 

MONDAY, April 29 

  • Congressman Miller met with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Buffalo District Commander, LTC Lyle R. Milliman, in his Washington, D.C. office to discuss the need for USACE to dredge the Rocky River Harbor. Located on Lake Erie at the mouth of the Rocky River, the harbor has seen significant shoaling, which makes it difficult to navigate and creates danger for watercraft. The Congressman encouraged USACE to quickly conduct dredging in the for public safety and to abate negative economic impacts and environmental concerns. TUESDAY, April 30 

  • Congressman Miller spoke in support of the Antisemitism Awareness Act on the House Floor. Along with Rep. Miller, the bill was led by Rep. Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05), Rep. Mike Lawler (NY-17), and Rep. Jared Moskowitz (FL-23). This bipartisan and bicameral bill passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 320 – 91.   • Congressman Miller spoke with NASA Administrator Bill Nelson at a hearing with the House Science, Space and Technology Committee. The Congressman highlighted the importance of Ohio’s NASA Glenn Research and its important economic impact in the region. Administrator Nelson joined the committee to discuss NASA’s budget for fiscal year 2025. The Congressman’s remarks can be found here.  
  • Congressman Miller honored World War II veteran and former Parma City Councilman Mike Zaderecky in a speech celebrating Mr. Zaderecky’s 106th birthday. Zaderecky proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. He later became Parma’s heating inspector and a bailiff. Congressman Miller is grateful for Zaderecky’s lifelong commitment to service and wishes him many more years of health and happiness.  The Congressman’s remarks can be found here.  
  • The House of Representatives voted to pass the Weather Act Reauthorization Act which included the Congressman’s Advanced Weather Model Computing Development Act. The bill passed the House by a vote on 394 – 19. 

WEDNESDAY, May 1 

  • Congressman Miller voted in favor of the Antisemitism Awareness Act which passed the House by a vote of 320 – 91. 

SUNDAY, May 5 

  • Congressman Miller participated in the Polish Constitution Day Parade and Celebration in Parma, Ohio. Parma, which is home to about 15,000 Polish Americans, has been hosting this parade in partnership with the Polish American Congress and Polish Village Parma for 74 years. Other notable attendees included Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter, Parma City Councilmembers, including Councilwoman Deborah Lime, who’s ward encompasses Polish Village, United States Senator Sherrod Brown, and Ohio State Representatives Sean Brennan and Thomas Patton.  Photos from the event can be found here.

Congressman Max Miller represents Ohio’s Seventh District which includes Medina and Wayne counties as well as parts of Cuyahoga and Holmes counties.
