U.S. Congressman Max Miller’s Week in Review

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Below are highlights of U.S. Congressman Max Miller’s (OH-07) schedule the week of May 20 as well as some highlights of his staff’s engagements with constituents. 

MONDAY, May 20 

  • Congressman Miller attended the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Public Officials breakfast. The Congressman had the opportunity to catch up with local and state elected officials and Jewish community leaders about Israel’s war against Hamas and the rise of antisemitism on college campuses. WEDNESDAY, May 22 

  • Congressman Miller met with and spoke to members of the Zionist Rabbinic Coalition who were in Washington, D.C. for a conference. Among the crowd were representatives from Northeast Ohio, including Rabbi Rosie Haim who officiated the Congressman’s wedding.  
  • The Congressman met with members of the United Steelworkers (USW) from USW District 1, which includes Ohio’s Seventh Congressional District. The group came to D.C. to participate in the USW Legislative and Policy Conference and highlighted its main legislative priorities, which included Trade Adjustment Assistance and funding for the National Labor Relations Board.   • Congressman Miller met with representatives of the plastics industry, including Chris Corona from CartierWilson, which is headquartered in Solon, Ohio.  During the meeting, they spoke about the performance plastics industry, the jobs that the industry provides, and the importance of chemical and advanced recycling. THURSDAY, May 23 

  • Congressman Miller participated in the House Committee on Agriculture’s markup of the Farm Bill. The Congressman’s opening statement about the Farm Bill is available here. A press release about the markup is here

SATURDAY, May 25 

  • Congressman Miller attended the 25th Annual National Rib Cook-Off in Berea. The Congressman enjoyed delicious ribs and mingled with members of the community, including representatives from Joyce Windows, Sunrooms, and Baths; Rocky River Fork Ranch Resort; Wilson Plumbing; and Coyne’s Catering. Congressman Miller’s Team represented him at the following meetings and events: 

  • the ribbon cutting event for Ming’s Bubble Tea in Solon, 
  • the Ohio Drug Trends Monthly Meeting, 
  • the Habitat for Humanity Home Dedication event in Wadsworth, 
  • a meeting with Liverpool Township Trustees,  
  • the Heroin Opioid Task Force Meeting which was convened by the U.S. Attorney General’s office for the Northern District of Ohio,  
  • the ribbon cutting event for Bridge Rehab and Performance in Westlake, 
  • a meeting with Southeast Ohio for Responsible Technology, 
  • a meeting with the Ohio Poultry Association.

 Congressman Max Miller represents Ohio’s Seventh District which includes Medina and Wayne counties as well as parts of Cuyahoga and Holmes counties. Miller serves on the House Agriculture Committee and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, for which he is also Chairman of the Environment Subcommittee. The Republican freshman members selected Miller as their representative to the Republican Steering Committee.  He is a member of the Republican Study Committee, Main Street Caucus, and the Congressional Jewish Caucus.
