Congressman Max Miller Honors Victims of Abbey Gate Bombing
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Max Miller (OH-07) introduced a joint resolution to designate August 26 as the official National Day of Remembrance for the victims of the bombing at Abbey Gate, Kabul Airport, during the final days of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. Original co-sponsors include Reps. Tom Barrett, Jack Bergman, Tim Burchett, Juan Ciscomani, Randy Fine, Darrell Issa, Tom Kean, Mike Lawler, Anna Paulina Luna, Morgan Luttrell, Rich McCormick, and Cory Mills. “Four years ago, 13 service members lost their lives at Abbey Gate in Afghanistan. These men and women embodied the values of America: Bravery, Selflessness, Dedication, and Service. As a Marine, I know the sacred responsibility we carry to honor the memory of the fallen, not just in words, but in action,” said Congressman Miller. “Today, I introduced a resolution to designate August 26 the official National Day of Remembrance for the victims of the bombing at Abbey Gate.
